Hi everyone,

Okay so here are our favourite films to watch on Valentine's Day. Some are romantic, some are cheesy, some are funny and some are a combination of all three!

My Big Fat Greek Wedding:

My Big Fat Greek Wedding is an absolute classic. One definitely not to be missed. I'm sharing the trailer to all of the films so you can have a quick sneak peek if you haven't seen it already. The film is all about when two people from two different backgrounds fall in love and their families reaction to it! One of my favourite characters in this film is Gus Portokalos played by the late great Michael Constantine. He is so hilarious yet serious about traditions at the same time and it works. Great comedy all round. You'll even spot Joey Fatone of NSYNC as Toula's cousin Angelo.

Love Actually:

Another cheesy yet hilarious classic! I had to share a scene from Love Actually rather than the trailer as it really sums up how cheesy this movie really is. Hugh Grant dancing to 'Jump' by the Pointer Sisters is such a funny scene so much so that I always laugh like crazy and end up having a coughing fit! But underneath it all, it does prove love is really all around us.

The Notebook:

I love this film. It's a story about love, heartbreak and a husband's loyalty to his wife who suffers from Dementia. Based on the novel written by Nicholas Sparks and directed by the great Nick Cassavetes this heart-warming story will have you reaching for the tissues from the word go and with an all star cast it is one not to be missed.

Notting Hill:

One man's dream, a love that gets off to a rocky start but in a moment of sheer happiness it ends well indeed. I've shared the final scene because not only is it a beautiful scene featuring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant but because Elvis Costello sings 'She' in the background with strings accompanying him alongside drums and guitar. A 90's classic that is worth watching over and over again.

The Wedding Singer:

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star in this absolute classic. It has love, comedy and a whole hosts of 80's outfits! I have it on DVD and it's a film that Duncan doesn't mind watching with me over and over again. With a stellar cast and a great soundtrack you don't want to miss watching it!

The Vow:

The story of Leo & Paige, a couple who had their love stripped away from them when Paige suffered a serious brain injury after a car accident. Leo tells her story as she recovers physically and mentally from her injury. It is inspired by the story of Kim & Krickitt Carpenter. This is a lovely yet sad story but it shows determination to still love each other even if something strips it away from you.

P.S. I Love You:

A journey of discovery, a young widow on the journey of a lifetime. Starring Hillary Swank and Gerald Butler, it is a story of a love that melts your heart from the very first scene but gives you hope that no matter where we are or what we are doing love is always there to guide us.

Valentine's Day:

A unique film full of surprises. Proposals, revenge, love, marriage you name it- it is in this film. With a full cast of stars who are successful in their own right, it is the love of married couple Estelle and Edgar played by the great Shirley MacLaine and the amazing Héctor Elizondo that ties this film together. It proves that you don't have to be young to be in love.

And there you have it our picks for some of the best films to watch on Valentine's Day. What are you thoughts? Let us know.

Love,

Lily xx
