Hi everyone,

What a glorious day to be in London. I had the wonderful privilege to see The Enfield Brass Band play at Westminster Abbey Gardens as part of Westminster Abbey's summer concert programme. This is the third or fourth time they have played here and the programme of music they play gets better and better every year. Highlights from today include the Game of Thrones theme, Rock Around The Clock, I've Got Rhythm to name a few. My dad accompanied me and very much enjoyed the variety of music on offer and was grateful to have some father/daughter time with me which at the moment can be a rarity.

A lot of people came to the concert today. Tourists, Londoners and more cascaded upon the College Gardens of Westminster Abbey to have an afternoon of delightful music. It's not often that the Abbey Gardens are open to the public without paying to see the whole Abbey itself.

I do wonder what sort of food people eat on very warm days like today. Are you like me where you want something simple, hearty, quick yet doesn't take a lot of effort to make or do you battle with sweat to make the ultimate dinner?

One of my signature dishes that I can make in advance is my Ultimate Mac & Cheese. I make a batch big enough to have some spare in the freezer so on days like today, I can defrost it and enjoy within minutes. Because of the concert however, I haven't had time to prepare anything in advance so it will be either something quick at home or maybe buying a pizza on the way home. Who knows.

I will share my Ultimate Mac & Cheese recipe tomorrow or Friday as it is absolutely amazing and so worth the wait.

Something I've been watching recently (aside from Celebrity Masterchef and Bake Off: The Professionals) is Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby with the great Monica Galetti and friends. Until recently, I had no idea this programme existed and now I'm hooked. Both Duncan and I watch it together and we've been in such awe of what we've seen. We've shed tears when we've seen the cultural demographic between a 5 star hotel and the village struggling to make ends meet only a few miles away, we've had our jaws drop at the beautiful sights and more.

For our next couple of posts we will be looking at Autumnal recipes. The go between now, when the children start school again, and up until the end of October. Do you have any Autumnal recipes to share? Let us know and you could be featured in our Autumnal posts.

Until next time,

Lily x
