Hi everyone,
What a weekend! Being blessed with a bit of time off has been great. I went over to my parents house in London on Saturday for a family BBQ/Quiz. It was great craic! My cousin's husband did all the cooking on the BBQ (He is a whizz at it!) and my cousin made her famous Biscoff Cheesecake which was absolutely amazing! It's also nut, tree nut and coconut free (bonus for me hey?) I'll hopefully get the recipe from her so I can share it on here as it is so worth making. Creamy, sweet yet delicious and it's just the ticket to cleanse your palette after a meal.
Once we'd had our fill of chicken wings, burgers, sausages and grilled halloumi to name a few, it was time for our summer quiz. Now I organise around 3-4 quizzes a year for my family as we really enjoy it and it gives us an excuse to get together. Having my cousin and her family plus my sister in law's mum really boosted the numbers. Duncan had a brass band concert so wasn't with me this time but it was still fun anyway. He'll help me organise the next one. We had 4 teams in all and each team were super competitive!
It is so nice to have time out with family and it was especially nice to see my cousin and her family. A few weeks ago now, I had a severe asthma attack whilst out with family in London. My cousin instantly jumped to our aid assisting Duncan in getting me to the nearest hospital. So I surprised her on Saturday with a lovely bunch of flowers and chocolates from M&S. She was very grateful and thanked me.
Once the quiz was over, I had to get on the road as it takes me just under 2 hours door to door to get home. But everyone agreed it was good fun and that we should do it again soon. I think our next one will be around Christmas.
Do you like quizzes? Do you have one local to you that happens regularly? Do you quiz with your family?
Let us know your thoughts!
