Hi everyone,
It's been a very busy last few weeks and I haven't stopped! But in that time I have had a small bit of time to think about my favourite autumnal recipes!
One of my favourite chefs/bakers is Ree Drummond. You may know her affectionately as 'The Pioneer Woman'. She's been a regular feature on the Food Network and her recipes are so scrumptious and filling that my husband can't get enough of them!
This is her website- https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/
Do have a look and see her incredible recipes. I find her one dish casserole recipes particularly good this time of year and I do hope you'll give them a whirl!
One of her recipes that I am very keen to try between now and November is her Pork, Apple and Sage Meatballs. https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a61936192/pork-apple-and-sage-meatballs-recipe/
I'll try it and let you know how I get on. My husband Duncan would definitely love these. He loves Pork with Crackling and Apple Sauce so this would go down a treat!
Another favourite Autumnal recipe of mine is my Granny's famous Irish Stew. Now this recipe is top secret but I did share with you last year a recipe that is very similar from an Irish Cookbook that my dad lovingly brought me. Thanks Dad! Here is our version from our recipe calendar last year. https://lilyhough.wixsite.com/lilyfoodbakingblog/post/recipe-calendar-october
There's also the question of a roast dinner. Now I am not the greatest at roasts. I can do all the trimmings and the dessert but when it comes to the actual joint I struggle (just being honest!) so my husband steps in. To give him credit, he makes a mean roast lamb (I'll blog his tips next week :) so keep your eyes peeled). I'll also blog my tips on prepping early, the best shortcuts, and ways to sneak in vegetables when no one is looking (laughs).
So those are just a few of my favourite autumnal recipes. We'll have more recipes coming in the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled. What are your favourite autumnal recipes? What is your favourite type of roast dinner? Let us know!
Lily
