Hi everyone,

On the 4th November we celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. We hosted my parents for a roast dinner on the 2nd November. Duncan makes a mean roast lamb and it was so delicious. We had all the trimmings too (minus pigs in blankets) and a lovely apple crumble for pudding (which I made).

My parents really enjoyed it and we played a game of Beanie before watching Strictly Come Dancing. I lost the card game but Strictly soon cheered me up. We are very competitive when it comes to games, quizzes etc. So much so that Monopoly isn't allowed to be played in this house at all.

It was Duncan's birthday on the 9th November, and we had a pretty chilled weekend as he didn't want a fuss. He did however want a tin of Danish Butter Cookies (the kind that you get around Christmas.) I obliged him and brought him a tin. I did tell him, he wouldn't get another one until closer to Christmas and he's almost finished the tin! To be fair, I do drink a lot of coffee so I am forgiving about his love for Danish Butter Cookies.

We did however go out for lunch on the 16th November to celebrate both our anniversary and Duncan's birthday. This was in the midst of our Christmas Shopping Military Operation (more on that next month). Nando's is great for allergies and it has good food. Yum yum.

I was in the midst of enjoying my food when two ladies sat next to us began talking about all their personal bits and pieces including binging on food and terrible boyfriends. It totally put me off my food! I couldn't finish it. I was so annoyed. I knew that later on, I would be really hungry and we didn't have much time for me to make dinner (as we were going to our churches' quiz in aid of Tearfund). I made sure I had some Weetabix the following morning to start my day off right.

Personally, I wouldn't air such things in such a public place. Invite your girlies round to your house and have a glass of wine or two and then talk about it.

We left as soon as Duncan finished his meal.

What would you have done? Told them off or just leave as soon as the person you are with has finished their meal?

Lily xxxx
