So here I am with a month off where I can finally do what I've always wanted to do! Brush up on my cooking skills and show you simple ways to bake that are actually showstopping bakes... Yesterday I made a very simple yet delicious and quick Spaghetti Bolognese. Here's how I did it.
Ingredients:
250g Mince (can be beef or lamb)
80-100g of Quick Cook Spaghetti (per head)
1 can of Chopped Tomatoes
50g of Tomato Puree
Dash of Herbs
Dash of Spice Mix (I used a Steak Seasoning Mix)
Oil (for the pan)
Peas (Optional)
Prep time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 15-20 Minutes
Method:
1. Boil your kettle twice and transfer the water into a pot on a medium heat (this cooks the pasta quicker)
2. Heat some oil in a small frying pan (or bigger if you are cooking for more than two) and add the mince. Cook the mince until brown.
3. Once the mince is cooked, add the herbs and spice mix and combine. Then add the chopped tomatoes and tomato puree and combine.
4. If using, heat the peas until nice and soft in a separate pot.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, then it's time to plate up!
6. To plate up, use a pasta bowl (or equivalent) and using a pasta utensil (or 2 wooden spoons together) share out the spaghetti equally between both bowls. There is no need to drain the pasta (I leave the water in to help keep the pasta moist and to prevent it from drying out). Then add equal portions of the bolognese mixture and peas (if adding)
and add a bit of grated Parmesan Cheese to finish.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
