St Patrick's Day

Hi everyone,
We've had a wonderful St Patrick's Day! I spent the day with my dad doing some shopping and playing cards with my family in the evening. I also visited my Nanny who I love to bits. I did have a green T-Shirt on with Irish written on it and a four leaf clover on it. My nanny loved it so much that I gave it to her as a present. She wore it immediately. Her late husband (my grandfather) was Irish originally from County Kildare. My dad, his parents and my aunt's and uncles on his side are all from County Mayo. I try and go to Ireland as often as I can and I am hoping to go this spring. If I do, I will make sure I take plenty of pictures and blog from there.
I am very proud of my Irish heritage and I love a lot of Irish cuisine. Nothing beats a bowl of Irish Stew and Soda Bread on a cold day. I have my grandmother's recipe for Irish stew (which is a sworn family secret) but I have posted a similar recipe on the blog before.
I won the game of cards that evening and it was good craic. Time with family is precious, enjoy it whilst you can.
Did you celebrate St Patrick's Day?
What did you do?
Did you wear green clothing?
Let us know,
Enjoy your celebrations near and far,
Lily xxxx
