Hi everyone,
This month has been a busy one- from resting a lot to branching out ideas for Easter and the King's Coronation. March is an important month in my yearly calendar as I am of Irish Descent and in March St Patrick's Day occurs.
In London, there is the St Patrick's Day festival that happens usually the weekend before St Patrick's Day. This year was no exception, the crowds filled central London with various artists performing on the stage. From the likes of the incredible Sharon Shannon to Irish Dancers to bands playing reels for Jigs.
This St Patrick's Weekend was an eventful one- not only did we have a great festival but Ireland brought home the Six Nations cup on home turf. I guarantee there wasn't a dry eye in the house- I certainly had tears of joy in my eyes.
What a win, what a success and what a wonderful occasion to celebrate. It is still being talked about today.
My dad made some Boxty on St Patrick's Day and I was gutted to have missed it. I don't usually make it unless we have company as Duncan doesn't like it bless him. But I am visiting my folks this weekend, maybe we'll make some together.
There is many a recipe for Boxty and Soda Bread (which alongside a good quality Irish Stew) are the staples for St Patrick's Day. Our Soda Bread recipe is already on our website and we will be sharing our recipes for Boxy and Irish Stew in the next few days.
In the meantime, I leave you with this. Ireland.com have created a quiz on St Patrick's Day. We got 5/8. Have a go and let us know your score.
Love,
Lils xxx
