So did you guess which superstar pastry chef Lily got to meet at The Eat & Drink Festival? It was of course the wonderful amazing Cherish Finden! She was born in Singapore and moved to London in 2001 (after training in being a pastry chef and a chocolatier). She has had a fantastic career thus far from working for some of the world's most incredible hotels to using her ruler as a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals (her signature move!). I had the privilege of meeting her in person and she is my ultimate favourite pastry chef in the world and I was immediately star struck! At the Eat & Drink Festival she made the most amazing Crème Brûlée and for Cherish it is not just about taste but about presentation and the fact that it doesn't take a lot of work to present a dessert or pudding in a unique fabulous way.

She also took some questions from the audience and I asked a question that trumped her as it were. I asked her 'Can you make Macarons without using nuts?'. She said you could using seeds- I then told her I'm also allergic to seeds! We both laughed and agreed that if we figured out how to make them without nuts and seeds we'd let each other know. I'm still trying to figure it out! There's got to be a way surely?

Here are a few pictures from her epic presentation and of us talking as if we've known each other for years! I hope to see her again soon as she is an inspiration and I know I can learn a lot from her.

Do excuse my poor photography! But you get the gist of how magical Cherish's creativity is! Hats of to you Cherish darling!

I cannot believe I met my all time favourite pastry chef! I hope I get to meet her again and maybe have a pastry lesson with her.

Until next time,

Lily xxx
