Hi everyone,
So Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I recently came across something on Instagram that I loved. Someone made a reel or post that suggested writing love notes to your loved one. I thought it was such a lovely idea that I started to write love notes to my husband from the 1st Feb.
I started writing the notes on post it notes, then chickened out and reverted to WhatsApp. But still I am writing a note to my husband every day. Now you don't have to be a relationship to write a note to someone showing how much you appreciate them, their friendship etc.
Not everyone is in a relationship and you don't have to be. But if you know someone out there who would appreciate a little love on this cheesiest of days then please let them know.
Also you could have a Galentine's Day instead. A day celebrating women. Love comes in many forms and friendship is one of the strongest bonds of love. I've had friends who have gone out to lunch/dinner with friends, seeing a theatre show and having a glass of wine to celebrate friendship.
Today, I sent my husband the following note:
9th Feb: I love how you hug me from behind especially when I've cooked something scrumptious
My lovely husband always does this as a sign of appreciation of my good cooking. I'm always on the lookout for new recipes and I often find it's not that hard to adapt them to my allergies. And my husband is often happy to play guinea pig (laughs).
This Valentine's/Galentine's Day, why not check in on your friends and see how they are doing? Send them some flowers or chocolates maybe? And if you know someone who is struggling, why not give them a little love this week.
Lily
